Come on, Mr. President

Posting on my blog is my little way of casting a vote for what stays in public discussion. Search engines can count, and journalists have a way of writing about topics of interest to readers.

I strongly believe that freedom of religion (i.e., freedom of thought) should remain front-and-center in public discourse until everybody in the U.S. has a good, long, chance to think it through. While it's still legal to think.

To that end, reposted from Weasel Zippers, comes this little video of Barack Obama showing his annoyance at the "audacity" of anyone to wonder what the president of the United States thinks about freedom of religion.

I, literally, could not agree more. I'm going to try and help you keep this issue in discussion.

  2. @RSS: Thanks. Requiring people to renounce their consciences tells us everything we need to know about the current opponents to freedom of religion.

  4. No prob., brother. By the way, what's your take on the latest "back tracking" by the President? I'm hearing conflicting reports. Earlier this morning, it seemed like all they were promising was "more time and more guidance in how to comply" whereas by the afternoon I was hearing language that suggested the President is actually reversing himself. Of course, even if he makes the promise I figure all bets are off in the event he wins a second term.

  5. He has the audacity to say "c'mon guys" when he is threatening our freedom of religion. He irks me to no end the way he tramples on the constitution and has no regard for citizens' rights. America cannot afford for Obama to have a second term. He is killing America. *UGH*

  6. @RSS: I think Obama and his Obamatons are playing an effective (from their perspective) game of 3-dimensional chess. Just about every twist this attack on religious freedom via their pro "contraceptive care access for women" ObamaCare policy wins them something. Many of these potential victories, of course, will come in the form of genuine health care and financial losses for his useful idiot base (along with the rest of us), but of course the rank-and-file useful idiots can't see beyond their biases to realize that. I hope I'll find some time to write a post on this soon.

@Teresa: Yes, he brushes off a question about Constitutional protection of religious freedom like it is the most superficial and irrelevant question on the planet, which to him it probably is.

  7. Miss QR, I've linked to this and your "comply" post. As much as I want to get away from the politics, you are so right that in today's world, posts and links do matter. :-/
