  1. I expect this from Murky and other RINOs. But Rubio? Seriously? And Thune, Cantor, and King?

Love the pic BTW. pjToddler (on my lap) loved it.

  2. I used to feel good about King. But since the Tucson massacre, he's been acting much differently, wanting one-on-one protection of Congress folk and now sitting down with Weiner, of all people! I wonder what he knows.

Michelle Bachmann was great! We won't give up.

    Wishing pjToddler sweet dreams!

  3. Understand re King. And ditto re Bachmann.

Let's hope on the last. She's nearly three. I can count on one hand the number of nights she's slept through. We were doing really well until she got sick before NYE.

Three years. No wonder I'm tired, right? ; )

  4. you know what, now that it is over, I think it worked out. There was much less clapping this time around. Granted the speech was not one of his best, but when has that ever stopped them before?

  5. @conservative girl - I didn't watch Obama's speech, so I'll take your word on that. I'm suspicious though. My questions:

    1. Is this a precedent that will be followed when Dems have the majority? I don't see Dems giving up any perceived advantage in the service of "civility."(Those memorable words "We won" spring to mind.)

    2. Isn't there enough voter apathy due to the feeling (observation?) that "it's all one party anyway" without further discouraging voters? I'd definitely like to see a little show of strength for my political views after working hard to get someone elected, not a chameleon-like fading into the woodwork.

    3. I know many Conservatives are feeling intimidated following the blaming of the Tucson shootings on Conservative rhetoric. In areas where Conservatives are greatly outnumbered and are viewed with real revulsion by Progs, it is natural for some Conservatives to wonder if their safety hasn't been compromised by GOP politicians caving in to the argument that Conservative rhetoric is dangerous. It's one thing for a former Marine who can "take care of himself" to say what he's thinking and another to be a single mom wondering if she dare put out a Republican lawn sign without retaliation.

  6. Rep. King got his start in Congress with campaign money from the IRA and Sinn Fein. I guess Irish terrorists are ok? Now he's promoting Wilson's Espionage Act of 1918, which was meant to shut down dissent of those pointing out the falseness of the propaganda of WW1. One poor guy went to jail for making a movie about the American Revolution because it painted the British in a bad light. Rep. King seems quite the statist to me.

I'd check the rest of them against the CFR membership list - might be revealing.
