Meditation: Thank You, Officer Johns and Holocaust Museum Guards

Like many others, I am feeling sorrowful appreciation for Stephen Tyrone Johns, the Holocaust Memorial Museum security guard who was murdered in the line of duty two days ago. He was a friendly soul, only 39 years old, and no one can replace him.

Officer Johns and two other security guards at the museum put themselves between a twisted murderer and a large number of museum visitors, including many children, family groups, and elderly folks, as well as museum staff members. They prevented terrible suffering at hard cost to themselves, with Officer Johns paying the highest price.

Thank you, heroes, and God bless you. When you were needed, you answered the call.
