You've heard by now, perhaps, that PayPal is cutting off service to Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs and SIOA. Her enemies don't want her to carry on her courageous work. After all, Truth is the New Hate Speech.
So there's only one thing to do at the moment. Support Pamela's work with a check or money order. This kind of oppression stops when it has an effect opposite to the one intended. And I always kind of prefer paper, don't you? Nice and crisp.

I wonder what the story is behind Paypal's cutoff? Who pushed them to it?
ReplyDeleteGeller and The Other McCain are surmising that CAIR and others complained to PayPal to cut off Geller's online funding for her "Leaving Islam" bus advertising campaign.
ReplyDeleteYukio--I just remembered that, back in April, the "Leaving Islam?" ads on buses in Miami were pulled when the South Florida chapter of CAIR complained. David Yerushalmi (Shariah law expert) and Robert Muise of the Thomas More Law Center intervened based on infringement of First Amendment free speech rights, and the ads were restored, plus a big discount was applied for the purchase of more ads.
ReplyDeleteHmm... Can something similar be applied to Paypal, I wonder? Is it legal to deny services based only on flimsy "hate site" excuses?
ReplyDeleteI think we might be finding that out pretty soon.
